Five stars for Thomas N. Zero for Sears Home Services.
The technician, Thomas, was five stars - he went above and beyond for us. Sears Home Services? Absolutely awful. The inability to contact a real human, and the complete ineptitude of whomever created the call tree were very frustrating. Just to give one example of many, you get an automated phone call saying that your appointment will be cancelled if you don't call back a different number to confirm receipt of parts. You call that number and there are three options: 1) hear information about the parts order, 2) get the tracking number, and 3) confirm parts received and reschedule appointment. Selecting option 3 results in a message about rescheduling your appointment using the link sent by text. No parts confirmation involved. The link in the text, btw, which is purported to connect you to all kinds of helpful information, including parts' tracking, does nothing of the sort. It just shows you the next appointment you have scheduled and the service address and service request number. In the end, our last appointment (after three weeks without a dryer) almost wasn't. Somehow we hadn't been added to anyone's service queue that day even though the information still said someone would be coming between 8am-5pm (which is a RIDICULOUSLY inconvenient window. Not everyone can just sit around at home waiting all day). At 330pm, I texted Thomas (I had his number from when he had called me before another appointment to see if the parts' had arrived, which they had not. Took almost two weeks to arrive), and thank goodness he was so kind and contacted his manager and figured out we'd been overlooked, and added us to his work day, even though it meant he arrived at 6pm. All in all, a very frustrating experience, with Thomas being the only positive.
