Reset the electronic control board in the fridge by unplugging the refrigerator power cord or shutting off the house circuit breaker for the refrigerator. Leave power off for 2 minutes and then plug the power cord back in or reset the house circuit breaker. The electronic control board will reboot and the evaporator may start working.
Check for excessive frost in the freezer. Excessive frost on the evaporator can block evaporator fan blade rotation. Safely store food and unplug the fridge or turn off the control for several hours. Leave the freezer door open so frost and ice will melt off the evaporator fins. This may free up the evaporator fan blade so the fan will begin working again.

If the condenser fan isn’t running, unplug the refrigerator and check the wire harness connection on the fan motor. Reconnect the wire harness if it’s loose or disconnected.

If the wire harness connection is okay, plug the fridge back in to see if the condenser fan works. Unplugging the fridge while checking the wire harness will reset the control board and the fan may begin working again. If not, schedule refrigerator repair service through Sears Home Services and we’ll send a technician to your home to fix the problem.
