Jesse quickly located the problems with our 10+ year old model and gave options for repairs. All were practical with logical reasons and an estimate on each type of repair costs. He also gave us a price range for a replacement refrigerator. We opted for repairs at this time.

25+ year old Kenmore washer would not spin or drain
I was pretty sure that the water pump on our top loader washer died, but when Grace from Sears Repair arrived, she immediately identified that the actual problem was a failed lid switch. As soon as she made an electrical contact with the switch, the tub drained. Unfortunately, she did not have the exact switch for our model washer. She was able to improvise with another lid switch and make it work. If this had not been possible, she would have had to order the exact Sears part and make another trip to our house, If the website for making the appointment provided a space to indicate the model of your appliance and a description of the issue, then the Sears repair technician could probably have come to our house with a complement of the parts for this problem on my particular appliance. Sears Home Repair's scheduling system should narrow down the technician's arrival time to something less than an 8-hour window. I waited at home ALL DAY and was the last appointment of the day. If I had known that, I could have done some errands in the morning.
