Ice maker not working
We received our parts via UPS and USPS. Doug showed up. Never checked the ice maker. Determined the problem was the valve or some kind of hose in the back which was one of the parts we received. He replaced that and took the ice maker with him. It still doesn't work. We gave it a full 24 hours but still no ice. It was a waste of our day.

Annual Maintenance LG Washer
Our washer was inspected on Wednesday, May 29 2024 as part of our annual maintenance agreement. The filter was removed by the technician but was not replaced securely when put back. After the technician left, we washed a load of clothes. Because thefilter was not secured it leaked the entire wash cycle. Water went from the first floor to the basement for approximately 15 minutes. We didn't discover the problem until after the damage was done. Water ran onto and down into the furnace and water heater in the basement. We were advised to submit a claim. We are waiting for estimates from our plumbing, heating tech. As soon as those are completed we will forward. It appears that both the furnace and water heater have been compromised. This has not only been an inconvenience, but totally unavoidable if not so careless.

Appliance Repair
Our Bosch dishwasher had suddenly stopped working. Doug said it was the control module, which was no longer available, and replacing the dishwasher was the only option. I called Bosch, who said the control module was certainly available and gave me the part number. I was able to find a Bosch service representative who came out today, and said control modules were rarely a problem. Within 2 or 3 minutes he found the problem was a loose connection in the junction box which connects the power to the dishwasher. A loose screw in the junction box caused a wire to overheat and burn out. This was replaced within 10 minutes, and the dishwasher works fine. Doug told me there was power to the dishwasher (which there evidently was not) and that the control module must be the problem. He seemed uninterested, and must not have looked in the junction box, which was easily accessible. He suggested I purchase a Whirlpool ("which is made in the USA") and gave me the name of an establishment in Superior, WI that sells them. I am not sure he was familiar with dishwasher repair. My previous experience with Sears repair was much better, but it seemed that Doug was over his head and didn't want to deal with my problem.

Oven repair complaint and fedback
The technician for the 11/24 appointment failed to respond to my description of the oven malfunction. The oven heated up all right, but not in accordance with the temperature set on the dial. A thermostat issue and not a bake element problem. Yet he (Joseph H.) Ordered a bake element. His part arrived and was installed on 11/7 with no improvement over the old bake element. The oven was equally malfunctional. The tech repairman departed from my house without first checking the result, and saying to me " the oven is good to go".

Dishwasher
Crappy. He comes in replaces the bad parts but does not finish the job and then tells my wife he does not hold people's hand and that she can read the manual to finish the job. Skouls at her and said it isn't his job. Right now I'm disappointed in Sears for not completing the job and leaving us without an appliance and an employee who is obviously not happy with his line of work.

Never experienced something like this before
Not certain if our issue was ever properly diagnosed. Certainly wasn't repaired and we received conflicting information about our 5 year old Kenmore Elite refrigerator that the repair wasn't covered under warranty due to a class action law suit related to defective compressor and components. A true waste of time and money!!! Lol
