Step 1: Access the Filters

Most 2025 GE dishwashers have two main filters: the ultra-fine filter and the fine filter (also called the mesh filter plate). The ultra-fine filter traps smaller particles and prevents them from clogging the dishwasher’s internal components. The fine filter or mesh filter plate captures larger food particles and debris.

To access the filters in your GE dishwasher, open the door and remove the bottom dishrack. You’ll find the filters below the bottom spray arm as shown in the image below.

Twist the filter basket in the counterclockwise direction to unlock it from the ultra-fine filter assembly as shown in the image above. You will also see directional arrows on the bottom of the filter basket to help you with disassembly. Pull the filter basket to remove it from the assembly.
