My review is of the service provided by SEARS Appliance Repair, not of Al the repairman. The repair was for a refrigerator bought through Best Buy. The Best Buy warranty used AIG insurance, who subbed out the repair to SEARS. SEARS canceled my first appointment with no warning, for what they said were "unforeseen circumstances" and then rescheduled it to a date they picked, with no input from me. I received daily automated reminders of the upcoming rescheduled repair for the whole week prior. Then on the day of the rescheduled repair (which was to be sometime between 8am-5pm), I get an automated message at 4:41pm saying the repair was again "canceled for unforeseen circumstance." The repair was re-rescheduled yet again for a week later. I get no further reminders of the new re-rescheduled repair appointment. In the meantime, I asked Best Buy to hire a local repair company instead. I thought the re-rescheduled repair had now been canceled with SEARS. But then at 7am this morning I get an email saying the repairman would at my home between 9-10am today. I then tried to cancel the supposed repair appointment, but the SEARS website said I could only cancel it through the insurance company. Absolutely ridiculous!!! Not a single actual person could be reached at SEARS about the repair; they were fully automated by phone, text and email. Even the texts I got from SEARS were AI generated. SEARS canceled, multiple times, with no explanation, and then wouldn't even let me cancel the final appointment that should not have been happening anyway. Do NOT use SEARS for appliance repairs!

Be aware that sometimes these big companies will only send a tech to try to sell you their appliance warranty versus doing a quick fix on a reasonable price. The price to repair my washer was going to be almost as much as to buying a new one. So I declined the repairs. They charge you an automatic $120.00 diagnostic fee. Which was a whole lot of nothing.
