He was very polite and knowledgeable. Dryer didn't work again today, but I found a work around to get it to work. It still shuts off in the middle of drying a load of clothes, but if I put the timer knob back to off and then turn it on again, the knob that starts the cycle works again and will turn on and run for awhile and I repeat until clothes are dry. He noted that it acts as if it is set on one of the choices of shutting off when they are dry. However it is not and shuts off before they are dry. Thanks for the promptness of servicing my very old dryer and arriving at the scheduled time.

The technician was fine. He made an effort on my behalf to work in both the washer and dryer so I would not have to wait on another technician to come. That was greatly appreciated. As for the scheduling of the service appointments, it was a nightmare. It had all been scheduled for another day and nobody came or called to say they couldn't make it. My service agreements with Sears will no longer happen.
