Finally set things right
We had a dishwasher repair. Unfortunately it took 4 different visits to diagnose the problem and get it fixed. While Charles was great in finally fixing our dishwasher, we were enormously inconvenienced as my wife and I both work full-time and can't sit around the house all day. While the failed diagnoses on 3 previous appointment visits was frustrating enough, writing checks for parts we didn't need only added to the annoyances. The automated phone system for appointments and confirming parts arrival is very cumbersome and not user friendly at all. There is no way to talk to a live human. When on a mobile device there was no way to access the live chat. My wife needed her laptop to access the live chat on one of our many follow ups. One of our appointments was canceled by the system because I could not confirm that a part had arrived in time for one of the scheduled appointments and we had to reschedule. There should be a way for the service company to access the parts arrival tracking. Putting it on the customer to track it and report it on site is extra work the customer should not have to undertake. Fortunately, we were able to speak directly to the regional manager, Tracy Hamblin, who made things right recognizing how much we had been inconvenienced for a service we were paying for. On the fourth visit everything was finally fixed and operational. I don't know if there's better training available, but guessing at a problem 3 times is not the way a service company should function. Troubleshooting is different than diagnosing the problem. I can do that. I understand there will be unique circumstances on occasion, but when I call a pro, I expect a solution. End of story. Sears home services has to be better in their diagnostics and their online servicing.
